NALU FILM FOUNDATION
Sports have been a part of human culture for thousands of years, but modern action sports really started to grow in the last century. The rise of photography and cinematography has enabled talented camera operators to capture the daring feats and incredible skills of athletes as they push the limits of their sports. Alongside the great athletes, we honor and acknowledge the talents and dedication of the filmmakers and photographers who documented these impressive achievements in action sports. It is essential to preserve the lifetime work and legacy of both those behind and in front of the camera.
Time, like everything else, is significantly impacting all types of analog recordings. This issue is becoming more urgent. Film negatives and videotapes have limited lifespans; these original physical assets need to be preserved in a controlled environment and converted to digital files as soon as possible. We must prevent these iconic films and historic archives from being lost; this is why the Nalu Film Foundation was established. We invite all individuals and organizations that share our vision to join us in this mission.
The Nalu Film Foundation aims to perpetuate the love of and talent for filmmaking by providing training and scholarships to a new generation of producers. Our goal is to equip them with the practical resources and skills needed to uphold and enhance the bold and creative legacy of action sports filming. We will help fund documentary films and related content that inspires and educates.
