A commercial film lab charges $400 or more to scan a single 1,000-foot reel. Because we scan in-house on our own equipment, $250 scans an entire reel.
Families and filmmakers trust us with their life's work, and every dollar keeps it safe, searchable and seen. We currently have 100% volunteer staff.
Save Sonny Miller's film reels
The Nalu Vault began with Sonny's archive: The Search, Searching for Tom Curren, and decades of original 16mm and 35mm negatives. More than 350,000 feet are scanned. Hundreds of reels are still waiting.
