Stock Footage Licensing
The Nalu Film Foundation archive holds decades of rare surf and action sports film, video, and photography from legendary cinematographers including Sonny Miller, Larry Haynes, Herbie Fletcher, Col Albert Benson, and Jeff Hornbaker. Much of this material has been newly digitized from 16mm and 35mm film, videotape, slides, and prints, making previously unseen footage available for licensing.
We work with filmmakers, brands, broadcasters, and media companies to license footage for documentaries, commercials, broadcast, streaming, and editorial use.

How Licensing Works
- Tell us about your project. Share what you're working on and the kind of footage you're looking for, including the era, filmmaker, location or break, subject matter, or a specific film.
- We search the archive. Our team pulls selects from the collection and sends proxies for your review.
- Get a custom quote. Licensing terms are quoted based on your intended use, including broadcast, streaming, web, runtime, exclusivity, territory, and term.
- Delivery. Once approved, we deliver licensed masters along with the paperwork you need.
As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, proceeds from footage licensing go directly toward preserving and digitizing the rest of the archive.
